Architect Sani Abbas, Member Governing Board, Nigerian Youth Congress
A young generational Architect with many years of experience in the public sector construction project management, budget planning, monitoring, and policy implementation.
Sani is the Head of projects at Petroleum Training Institute, Effurun, Delta State, Nigeria, an international Oil and Gas Training Institute that produces middle class manpower. In this position he leads on the Institute’s Planning and Policy Implementation of the Multi-billion Naira Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (2017 – 2020) and the Multi-million Dollar Medium Term Expenditure Framework (2018 – 2021) portfolio.
He is a trained Officer on the Nigeria Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (2017 – 2020) which provides a clear road map of Strategic Policy actions and enablers required to revive the economy and place it on a path to sustainable growth and development.
As a Project Officer, he is the Head of the Institute’s Project Team and is responsible for the physical planning and strategy, thus, coordinating the Implementation, Monitoring, and Evaluation of the Multi-billion Naira projects across the three Institute campuses.
He is also a member of the Ministerial Oil and Gas Sector Monitoring and Evaluation Coordination Team under the Chairmanship of the Hon. Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, member of the Institute Management Tender Board Technical and Evaluation committee, member of the Institute’s Procurement Planning committee. He also chairs the institute Osubi Campus multi billion naira five years Infrastructure Development plan and the Coordinator of the Project Monitoring and Evaluation Unit.
Sani studied Architecture at the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and is a graduate of the famous Barewa College Zaria. He also studied Project Management, Public Procurement, and Public Finance among others.
He has vast knowledge and experience in Contract Administration, Public Finance, Budget Analysis and Performance, Cash flow Projection, and Cost Control with a track record of delivering projects according to specification on time and budget. He is the founder of Azumi Welfare Foundation, a non-profit charity organization that is currently sponsoring more than 100 university students across the country.
He is particularly interested in improving the wellbeing of communities through involvement. He loves playing table tennis and spending time with his wife and children.
He is happily married and a proud father to a beautiful girl and two energetic boys.
